I would like to thank Stephen and his crew for the amazing work they did remodeling my outdated kitchen (last two pictures). I took my time comparing other contractors prior to the start of the remodel, but Stephen stood out with his professionalism, attention to detail, and fair pricing. He helped us choose the right materials and even provided a 3D model to give us a clear idea of how the final kitchen would look. His contract was very well structured, with everything clearly listed, there were no hidden fees or surprises at the end of the project. His communication was excellent throughout the entire process. They handled everything you see in the photos, removing the bulkhead, adding a dishwasher, new flooring, painting, backsplash tile, garbage disposal, under-cabinet lighting, installing new lights, laying a new water line for the fridge’s water dispenser, and installing all the appliances. What stood out most to me was that Stephen made sure everything was up to his own high standards. If something wasn’t quite there, he made sure it got corrected, which really shows how much he cares about the quality of his work, and I really appreciate that kind of attention to detail. I’m so glad I went with Renewed Homes Construction after taking the time to compare others. If I have more projects in the future, I’ll definitely work with them again. 10/10, highly recommend!

Expert Basement Finishing in Fox Chapel, PA
Basement finishing in Fox Chapel means working with what older custom homes actually have: deep footprints, stone or block foundation walls, low utility runs, and decades of deferred potential. Pittsburgh Home Renovations handles the full scope, from moisture management and insulation to framing, electrical, lighting, flooring, and finish carpentry. Fox Chapel homes built between the 1930s and 1980s often carry generous square footage below grade that sits unfinished while the rest of the house gets renovated. We convert those spaces into home offices, guest suites, home theaters, gyms, and multi-use entertaining areas. Every layout decision accounts for ceiling height, egress, acoustics, and how the finished space connects to the rest of the home. If your Fox Chapel estate has a lower level that does not match the quality of the floors above it, contact Pittsburgh Home Renovations to schedule a walkthrough and get a clear scope of work.

Basement Finishing FAQ
Common questions about basement finishing in Fox Chapel, PA.
Yes, we work with stone and block foundation walls common in Fox Chapel homes built before 1960. We assess moisture conditions first and frame the finished space to accommodate the wall type.
A Fox Chapel basement can become a home office, guest suite, gym, home theater, wet bar area, or a combination of uses. The layout depends on ceiling height, egress, and how you plan to use the space.
Moisture control is part of the finishing process, not a separate step. We address it before framing so the finished space stays dry and the investment holds up over time.
We select finishes, trim, and built-ins scaled to the home above. Fox Chapel estate homes get finish carpentry and materials that match the character of the upper floors.
We plan around existing mechanical runs and structural beams to get the most usable ceiling height possible. In some Fox Chapel homes, we can also lower the floor slab to gain additional headroom.
Yes, finished basement space in Fox Chapel adds livable square footage you use now and supports property value later. Most owners in Fox Chapel renovate to stay, not to move.
